The School Museum founded in 1855 by the French Louis Jacques Brunet, taxidermist and professor of Natural Sciences, works in rooms of the first floor of the school. Besides the Museum, the visitor will also visit the 1866 building, built to house the first high school, the oldest in Brazil, founded in 1825.
The exhibition of 2018 addresses a brief evolutionary history of the Beings, presenting themselves through pieces from the Museum’s collection. In it, there are replicas of plants, specimens of marine life, animals that went through the taxidermy process (amphibians, reptiles, chelonians, mammals), mineral specimens and paleontology and ending up as the primates and archaeological remains of prehistoric Pernambuco.
