The Emperador’s Wharf was built in 1859 to welcome the emperor Dom Pedro II and reformed in 2016. It features a view of the Old Alfândega Quay, today the Paço Alfandega Mall, the Mauricio de Nassau Bridge and the Giratória Bridge. The place has an amphitheater and a café. Right in front of it, it is possible to observe the 17 Square with its obelisk, built in 1927, in honor of the aviators: Gago Coutinho and Sacadura Cabra that realized the crossing of the Atlantic ocean na in 1922.
