The current Maciel Pinheiro Square was inaugurated on September 7, 1876, in the heart of the Boa Vista Neighborhood, in commemoration of the victory of the Brazilian troops in the Paraguayan War. There y to findou can find the statue of the Ukrainian Clarice Lispector, who lived in Recife. The square has: A luminous fountain made of stone and composed of lions, masks, nymphs and an Indian armed with bow and arrow. Next to the square you can see the da Boa Vista Mother Church founded in 1889. The Altarpiece of the Church presents the Lamb of God and the Blessed Sacrament engraved on the stone itself. From outside the Church you can see the statues of the evangelists Saint Mark, Saint Matthew, Saint Luke and Saint John.
