- The international dialing code for Brazil is +55;
- All cities have two-digit codes and landlines have eight digits throughout the country;
- The code for Recife is 81;
- Cell phones in Recife have nine digits, in the rest of the country the number varies depending on the locality;
- For long distance calls in Recife, you should dial: 0 + carrier code + city code + destination phone;
- For collect calls, simply change the 0 to 90 at the beginning of the call;
- For international calls from Brazil, you must dial: 00 + carrier code + country code + city code + destination phone number;
- For calls to service telephones (900, 0800, 0900, 0300, 800) there is no need to dial the operator’s number;
